About

Mount Qingyun lies in Nanlinglu township, Yongtai County, west of Fuzhou, Fujian, on the south bank of the Min River, over 50 km² in six parts: the Yuntian stone gallery, the gorge waterfalls, the Baima twin streams, the Water Curtain Palace, the tree-fern gorge and the Heavenly Pool meadows.

The mountain is volcanic rock with many peaks, waterfalls, gorges, caves and strange rocks. The Yuntian gallery is a kilometre-long rock gallery weathered out of a sheer cliff; the nine-tier Water Curtain falls nearly 600 m. The Yunshan, Wuhou and Lihu “heavenly pools” in old craters lie at about 1,200 m amid meadows.

The vegetation is rich and evergreen, with rare species such as the spiny tree fern and yew.
