  • Binhai Aircraft Carrier Theme Park 滨海航母主题公园 2010
    A military theme park at Baguatan in Tianjin’s Binhai New Area, operated by the TEDA Group.
  • Dagukou Fort 大沽口炮台 2013
    A Ming-Qing coastal defence work in the north and main battlefield of the three Battles of Dagu Forts, now a museum and ruins park; a national key cultural heritage site and one of the Ten Sights of Tianjin.
  • Tianjin Polar Ocean World 天津极地海洋世界 2013
    A leisure and tourism complex in the Xiangluowan business district centred on a polar aquarium, opened in 2011.
  • National Maritime Museum of China 国家海洋博物馆 2020
    China’s only national comprehensive maritime museum, jointly built by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tianjin, opened in 2019 and currently the largest maritime museum in the world.

  • Huangyaguan 黄崖关 2001
    A Great Wall pass in Jizhou, garrisoned and restored under the Ming general Qi Jiguang, combining a water gate, beacon towers, watchtowers and forts; its Eight Trigrams town houses the first Great Wall history museum along the wall.
  • Dule Temple 独乐寺 2004
    Also called the Great Buddha Temple, one of three surviving Liao-dynasty monasteries; its gate and Guanyin Pavilion, both built in 984, are major examples of Liao timber architecture and house statues from the same period.
  • Jizhou Karst Cave 蓟州溶洞 2021
    A karst cave in Lingqi Mountain, Luozhuangzi Town, Jizhou, within Meso-Neoproterozoic strata of the Yanshan range; 1,500 metres long and Tianjin’s only cave attraction.

  • Tianjin Tropical Plant Sightseeing Garden 天津热带植物观光园 2004
    Tianjin’s largest indoor botanical garden on 500 mu, opened in 2003 and also a national science education base.
  • Tianjin Yangliuqing Museum 天津杨柳青博物馆 2006
    Housed in the Shi Family Mansion (Zunmei Hall), built in 1875 as the residence of Shi Yuanshi, fourth son of Shi Wancheng of Tianjin’s “Eight Great Families”; a national key cultural heritage site.

Hebei District (4)

  • Dabei Zen Monastery 大悲禅院 2009
    Tianjin’s largest Buddhist temple, founded in the Shunzhi reign of the Qing; its main hall holds hundreds of Buddhist statues from the Wei-Jin to Ming-Qing periods, and it is a national key Buddhist temple of the Han regions.
  • Italian Style Tourism Area 意大利风情旅游区 2010
    Formerly Italy’s only overseas concession and Asia’s only large ensemble of Italian-style buildings; officially named the Yigong Garden Historic District in 2011.
  • Tianjin Eye 天津之眼 2010
    A giant Ferris wheel built on Yongle Bridge over the Hai River, the only one in the world on a bridge, serving both traffic and sightseeing; a Tianjin landmark.
  • Ningyuan Scenic Area 宁园旅游景区 2011
    Also called Beining Park, begun in 1906 as a government plantation and expanded into a park by the Beining Railway Bureau in 1932; one of Tianjin’s largest and best-preserved modern public gardens.

  • Samaranch Memorial Hall 萨马兰奇纪念馆 2013
    A memorial hall established by the IOC for its honorary life president Juan Antonio Samaranch, displaying 16,578 books, souvenirs and personal items from his collection; designated a national second-grade museum in 2024.

Heping District (2)

  • Wudadao Culture Tourism Area 五大道文化旅游区 2014
    An upscale Republican-era residential district that grew out of the British concession’s extension, with large numbers of varied European-style villas built in the 1920s, nicknamed the “World Architecture Expo”; it includes Minyuan Square and Xiannong Courtyard.
  • Tianjin Jinjie Culture Tourism Area 天津市金街文化旅游区 2019
    Heping Road dates from 1902; its stretch from Fu’an Street to Chifeng Road forms the Heping Road shopping street, known as the “Golden Street”.

Nankai District (2)

  • Tianjin Water Park 天津水上公园 2004
    Formerly Qinglong Pool and Southern Suburb Park, 164.57 hectares with 89.2 hectares of water, the largest comprehensive urban park in central Tianjin; the private garden Shuixiangzhou was built here in 1934.
  • Zhou Enlai and Deng Yingchao Memorial Hall 周恩来邓颖超纪念馆 2013
    A memorial hall within the Tianjin Water Park scenic area, occupying 60,000 square metres with 7,000 square metres of buildings.

  • Tianjin Happy Valley Amusement Park 天津欢乐谷 2014

Hexi District (1)

  • Tiantahu Scenic Area 天塔湖风景区 2004
    A scenic area centred on the 415.2-metre Tianjin Radio and TV Tower, Asia’s tallest when completed in 1991, surrounded by the 22-hectare Tianta Lake; “Clouds Circling the Tower” is one of the Ten Sights of Tianjin.

  • Pingjin Campaign Memorial Hall 平津战役纪念馆 2013
    A national first-grade museum commemorating the Pingjin Campaign, comprising a memorial square, exhibition halls, a multimedia hall and a military garden; its name was inscribed by Nie Rongzhen.

  • Tianshan Sea World and Milifang Water Amusement Park 天山海世界·米立方水上乐园 2014
