• Shijiazhuang Tianguishan Scenic Area 石家庄天桂山景区
  One of the famed peaks of the Taihang Mountains, 1,270 metres high and a national scenic area since 2002; the character “归” carved on its cliff, 97.71 metres tall, is the world’s largest Chinese character.
• Mimishui 沕沕水
  A karst scenic area along a tributary of the upper Hutuo River, at 800–1,100 metres, with tiered waterfalls dropping 93 and 45 metres and a cool, humid climate; a provincial forest park.
• Dongfang Giant Turtle Garden 东方巨龟苑
  Northern China’s largest high-tech soft-shelled turtle farm, combined with an aquarium, water activities and man-made attractions into a mixed scenic area.
• Shijiazhuang Cangyanshan Scenic Area 石家庄苍岩山景区
  A spur of the Taihang Mountains praised as its finest peak; the Qiaolou Hall is one of China’s three hanging temples, and Fuqing Temple, founded in the Sui dynasty, is said to be where Princess Nanyang, daughter of Emperor Yang, took vows. Scenes of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon were shot here.

  Also called Anji Bridge, generally held to have been built in 605 by the Sui craftsman Li Chun and regarded as the world’s oldest intact large-span open-spandrel stone arch bridge; a major 1950s restoration markedly altered its form and structure.
• North China Military Region Martyrs Cemetery 华北军区烈士陵园
  Among the first national key protected martyrs’ memorials, holding the remains of 316 regimental-level and higher martyrs who died in North China, including the coffins of Norman Bethune and Dwarkanath Kotnis.
• Zhengding Longxing Temple 正定隆兴寺
  Also called the Great Buddha Temple of Zhengding, one of China’s earliest, largest and best-preserved surviving Buddhist monasteries and one of its “Ten Famous Temples”; among the first national key cultural heritage sites in 1961.
• Zhengding Rongguo Mansion 正定荣国府
  A traditional-style complex built for the 1987 TV series Dream of the Red Chamber, begun in 1984 and completed in 1986, following the novel’s descriptions and Qing-dynasty timber building conventions.

  A culture and tourism complex in Shijiazhuang’s high-tech zone, founded in 1999 with about 80,000 square metres of floor space; one of the city’s ten major shopping centres.

  One of Chongli’s seven ski resorts and China’s first 4A scenic area built around skiing, with over 32 runs on more than 30 square kilometres.
• Dajingmen 大境门
  A key pass of the Ming Great Wall, ranked with Shanhaiguan, Jiayuguan and Juyongguan as the four great passes, and the only one named a “gate”.
• Xiaowutai Jinhe Scenic Area 小五台·金河景区
  Xiaowutai Mountain, anciently Daoci Mountain, is named for its five peaks; the main East Terrace rises 2,882 metres, Hebei’s highest point, and the range was once a Buddhist sacred mountain.
• Jimingshan Scenic Area 鸡鸣山风景旅游区
  A famed solitary peak beyond the Great Wall, 1,128.9 metres high and called the “Flying Peak”; a cultural mountain since antiquity with 112 temple buildings, the earliest from 231 BC, several since rebuilt.

  A cluster of Palaeolithic sites in the Sanggan River basin with over 80 early human sites found; 40 of the world’s 53 known cultural remains older than a million years are here, and Majuangou dates back two million years.

  The first large reservoir built in the People’s Republic after 1949, mostly within Huailai County, named for its dam near Guanting Town.

  Ruins of the Yuan dynasty’s fourth capital, built in 1307 after Karakorum, Shangdu and Dadu, formerly known as the “White City”.

  A large historical and cultural park themed on the ancient Zhao state’s sites, one of China’s national key parks.
• Site of the 129th Division Headquarters of the Eighth Route Army, Shexian 涉县八路军一二九师司令部旧址
  Also called the Liu-Deng Army headquarters site, comprising General’s Ridge, the headquarters and an exhibition hall; Liu Bocheng and Deng Xiaoping fought from here for eight years and founded the Shanxi-Hebei-Shandong-Henan border base.
• Wu’an Jingniang Lake Scenic Area 武安市京娘湖风景区
  Also called Koushang Reservoir, a medium-sized reservoir on the eastern Taihang slopes, named for the tale of Song founder Zhao Kuangyin escorting Jingniang; a national water conservancy scenic area since 2005.
• Fengfeng Xiangtangshan Scenic Area 峰峰矿区响堂山风景名胜区
  Centred on the Xiangtangshan Grottoes, begun under the Eastern Wei and mainly carved in the Northern Qi, in three groups with over 4,000 statues and Northern Qi sutra carvings; Hebei’s largest cave complex.
• Zhaoyuan Park 丛台区赵苑公园
  A landscaped park built in the style of the Warring States-era Zhao culture, the largest combined heritage and amusement park where Hebei, Shandong, Shanxi and Henan meet.
• Shexian Taihangshan Wuzhishan Tourism Area 涉县太行山五指山旅游区
  Also called Wuxing Mountain, named for five peaks resembling the Buddha’s fingers, 1,283 metres high; legend holds the Monkey King was pinned beneath it. Features include a cliff walkway, a glass bridge and a Korean Volunteer Army site.

  A Danxia landform scenic area on the eastern Taihang slopes, its North Peak rising 1,428 metres; nicknamed “China’s Grand Canyon”.
• Wu’an Guwudangshan Scenic Area 武安市古武当山旅游景区
  A Taoist mountain on the eastern Taihang slopes, its Golden Summit at 1,437.7 metres; temple stelae show it bore the name Wudang since at least the Tang, earlier than Hubei’s Wudang and Shanxi’s North Wudang.

  Formerly Tanghai Wetland, 110.64 square kilometres of tidal flats, saline marshes, fish ponds and reservoirs; an important stopover for migratory birds of Northeast Asia and the western Pacific.

  A tourist shopping street on both banks of the Tangjin Canal, formerly Canal Chinatown; a coal shipping hub in the Qing dynasty, designated a national tourism and leisure district from 2023.
