About

Taohuayuan, in Changde, Hunan, on the lower Yuan River, takes its name from Tao Yuanming’s “Record of the Peach Blossom Land”. The scenic area covers 158 km², with a core of 16 km² and 44 km² of water on the Wuling fishing river; its sights are hills, caves, waters, old gardens, wildlife and inscriptions.

Getting there

Taoyuan County can be reached by water via the Yuan River and Dongting Lake from Yueyang; it is 30 km from Changde Taohuayuan airport and 40 km from Changde railway station.
