  Kurdening is a town under Gongliu County, Ili, established in 2013 from Mohur Township.
• Guozigou and Sayram Lake 果子沟-赛里木湖
  Guozigou is a right-bank tributary of the Ili River in Huocheng County, named for its wild fruit forests. It is 86 km long with a basin of 657 sq km.

  Aksu Museum on West Street in Aksu was named among the first national third-class museums in 2009.
• Kizil Caves 克孜尔石窟
  The Kizil Grottoes, cut into cliffs of Mingyol Tagh in Baicheng County, are Buddhist caves of the ancient Kucha kingdom. 236 numbered caves survive, 81 with murals, and they were listed in 1961 among the first national key heritage sites.
• Kizilgaha Beacon Tower 克孜尔尕哈烽燧
  The Kizilgaha beacon tower, 13 km from Kuqa, is a Han-era signal tower in the Western Regions; hundreds of such beacon sites have been found in Xinjiang.

  The Kaidu River on the southern slope of the Tianshan flows southeast into Bosten Lake. It is 610 km long with a basin of 22,000 sq km and is the main upper course of the Kongque River.

  Balüntai Yellow Temple, named Yong'an Temple by the Qing court, is a Gelug-school Tibetan Buddhist monastery in Hejing County. It was listed in 2013 as a national key heritage site.

  Tarim Euphrates Poplar National Forest Park lies on the middle Tarim River in Luntai County, covers 4.5 sq km, and opened in 1997.

  The Qigexing Buddhist temple site dates from the Jin and is the largest Buddhist site of the Yanqi kingdom. It is the only site in Xinjiang that still has stupas, halls, caves and monks' living quarters together.

  The Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Museum, founded in 1959, is the region's only regional-level general museum of local history and geography and a national first-class museum. Its new building opened in 2005.

  Shuimogou scenic area in Urumqi's Shuimogou District is formed by five hills and the Shuimo River system. One of Urumqi's "New Ten Sights," it is a national 4A scenic area.

  Kumtag Desert, south of old Shanshan, covers 1,880 sq km and is the only desert in the world that adjoins a city. It was added to the national key scenic areas in 2002.
