- Dankar Ancient City 丹噶尔古城Dangar Ancient City in Huangyuan was built in the Hongwu era of the Ming, with two gates, Gonghai and Yingchun, and temples such as the City God Temple, Jinfo Temple and Guandi Temple.
- Riyue Mountain 日月山Riyue Mountain, anciently Chiling, southwest of Huangyuan, has a pass at 3,399 m. It is the watershed between Qinghai's inland drainage and the outward-flowing Yellow River system, and the natural boundary between farming and pastoral areas.

- Xinzhai Jiana Mani Stone Sutra City Tourism Area 新寨嘉那玛尼石经城旅游区Xinzhai Jiana Mani is a huge pile of mani stones in Yushu, begun in the late 18th century by the Jiana Living Buddha of Jyekundo Monastery and added to for 300 years. It holds over 2.5 billion stones and became a national key heritage site in 2006.
