About
The Jiuzhaigou–Huanglong scenic area has two parts, Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong, in the Min Mountains of north-western Sichuan; it was in the first batch of national scenic areas in 1982. The two are about 40 km apart in a straight line and were inscribed separately on the World Heritage List in 1992. See Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong for details.
Travel tips
Getting there: fly from Chengdu to Jiuzhai Huanglong Airport (near Chuanzhusi, between the two), or go by road from Chengdu.
Time: one to two days for Jiuzhaigou, half a day to a day for Huanglong; three or four days for both.
Note: Huanglong is above 3,000 m, so watch for altitude sickness; both are in the mountains and cold in the mornings and evenings.
