Mountain Ranges of China See also: Taihang Mountains, Wuling Mountains
Crossing southern Shaanxi roughly from west to east, the Qinling is a major divide between northern and southern China: the Yellow River basin lies to the north and the Yangtze basin to the south, and the warm-temperate zone gives way to the subtropical. Mount Taibai, at 3,771.2 m, is the highest peak in eastern mainland China. About 1,600 km long.
