Mount Shennong lies 23 km north-west of Qinyang, Henan, at the southern foot of the Taihang, 96 km²; the main peak, Zijinding, is 1,028 m. Its ravines and cliffs grow more than 10,000 white crane pines and over a thousand rare plant species, and some 9,000 Taihang macaques live here.
